In a couple of hours the voting begins on Ballot Initiative #4 in Alaska.  Polling locations are available, and Alaskans for Clean Water are asking for support of the initiative. 

“We’re grateful that Alaska’s voters are taking the time to look into Ballot Measure #4 and to make up their own minds about this important issue,” said Art Hackney, one of the sponsors of Ballot Measure #4. “Voters are getting the message that the initiative just imposes two water quality standards that are needed to stop harmful and deadly toxins from being discharged into salmon spawning streams.”

i’m relatively new to the fly fishing forums and blogs. i have been reading them for about a year, but just recently launched this blog. like many bloggers who write to a specific topic, in this case fly fishing, i’m stuck in a cubicle, and use the blog as an outlet of my dreams to be jetting from one fishing spot to the next. reminded of my reality by that little reminder in the bottom right corner of an email coming through that “needs to be taken care of immediately.” i often catch myself with “fishing envy” as i read others reports of great days, big fish, and long runs.

i’m now hooked on fliesandfins.com’s fish tales. they are legit. perfect bite sized adventures written by brothers of the angle from all around. from what i can tell, many are even from guys like me, who probably for most of the time are simply daydreaming of fishing and when that trip they have been waiting for comes, chronicle and share it with the rest of us counting down the weeks until its our turn.
